The Oman women's national fencing team achieved an unprecedented milestone in Omani women's sports by claiming the bronze medal at the Asian Junior Fencing Championship hosted by Kuwait, held from February 20 to 28.

Oman's female fencers competed against participants from 14 countries, delivering outstanding performances throughout the tournament to secure their place on the podium.

This historic achievement represents the first time an Omani women's team has won a medal at the Asian continental level in fencing, marking a pivotal moment for the sport's development in the Sultanate.

The success reflects years of dedicated preparation under the guidance of head coach Hisham Ali Karshoud, who has worked with the women's national team since 2019. Key contributors to this bronze medal achievement included Jannah al Sharji, Israa al Siyabi and Salma al Dughaishi.

The Oman Fencing Committee and the Oman Olympic Committee expressed immense pride in the achievement, with celebrations held to honour the players on their return to Muscat.
