Muscat: Omani referees Adnan Tabook and Omar al Harthi earned the category 'C' license from the Fencing Confederation of Asia (FCA) after passing examinations during the FCA refereeing seminar held in Dubai.

The license will allow the Omani duo to officiate at the Asian continental level. It also opens the path to apply for the category 'B' license, which would enable them to officiate at the international level.

This achievement is part of the Oman Fencing Committee's (OFC) efforts to develop human resources in the sport. The OFC has a working plan for developing players, umpires and coaches as a major agenda item for the coming years, aiming to build comprehensive national capacity across all aspects of the sport.

The certification of Omani referees at the continental level represents a significant milestone in the professionalisation of fencing in Oman, contributing to the committee's long-term vision of self-sufficiency in technical officiating.
