Muscat: The Oman Fencing Committee (OFC) delegation attended the 2021 Elective Congress of the International Fencing Federation (FIE) held in Lausanne, Switzerland.

The congress elected Alisher Usmanov (Russia) to a fourth term as President of the International Fencing Federation by acclamation — the governing body of the Olympic sport of fencing.

The Oman delegation's participation reaffirmed the committee's active engagement with the global fencing community since receiving FIE membership in 2019. Regular participation at FIE congresses ensures Oman has a voice in international fencing governance and stays connected with the latest developments in the sport.

The OFC's attendance at such high-level international meetings reflects the committee's commitment to aligning Omani fencing with global standards and building meaningful relationships with peer federations and international sports bodies.
