New Delhi: The Oman Fencing Committee took part in the 39th General Assembly of the Fencing Confederation of Asia, held on Thursday, 19 June 2026, in the Indian capital, New Delhi.

The Sultanate was represented at the assembly by the Chairman of the Oman Fencing Committee, Khalid bin Said Al Shu'bi, who joined fencing leaders from across the continent for the confederation's flagship annual gathering.

The meeting was chaired by the President of the Fencing Confederation of Asia, Sheikh Eng. Salem Al Qasimi, in the presence of the confederation's Vice President, Ahmed Al Sabban, alongside the heads and representatives of Asia's national fencing federations.

The agenda covered a review of the activities and programmes delivered during 2025, the report for the first half of 2026, and a discussion of the most notable achievements and challenges facing the sport across the continent, in addition to the approval of the confederation's proposed budget for 2027.

Oman's participation reflects the Oman Fencing Committee's commitment to active engagement within the continental and international bodies of the sport, and to strengthening the Sultanate's presence and partnerships across the Asian fencing movement.
